Jurgen Klopp has been following the centre-back for ‘at least a year’ and, according to Sport Witness, Liverpool are preparing to accelerate the move with negotations beginning in January as they look to secure Bremer’s signature.

Torino president is thought to have set Bremer’s price-tag at €10m – a fee that the Reds are likely to be more than happy to pay when the January transfer window comes around.

The Premier League side were heavily linked wtih Bremer last season during their defensive injury crisis, however with Klopp opting to sign Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak, Bremer remained in Turin – though his current form means he has continued to be rumoured to be moving to Anfield.

Who is Gleison Bremer?

Following four years in his home country of Brazil with Desportivo Brasil, Sao Paolo and Atletico Mineiro; Gleison Bremer joined Serie A club Torino in 2018 for a reported fee of just over £5 million.

The 2019-20 campaign kickstarted the 24-year-old’s career with Torino and he soon became a staple in their defence.

Last season Bremer made 33 league appearances and scored five goals for his side as they finished 17th – narrowly avoiding relegation.

The Italian club have enjoyed a more positive start to the current season as they sit in 12th, with Bremer scoring one goal and assisting another so far.

Who else has been linked with the centre-back?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly also interested in bringing Gleison Bremer to the Premier League.

Antonio Conte – who was recently named as Spurs’ new boss – knows the 24-year-old from his time with Inter Milan and has clearly been impressed with what he has seen.

Their current defensive options in the likes of Eric Dier and Ben Davies have struggled so far this season and so Conte will be hoping to strengthen his backline sooner rather than later.
