9. Scouse
Usually made with chunks of beef or lamb, Scouse is a hearty stew featuring potatoes, carrots and onions and usually served with crusty bread and pickled beetroot/cabbage. It is believed to have originated from the Port of Liverpool, and was traditionally made with whatever leftovers were available. Its name comes from 'lobscouse' which is a European sailors' stew. You'll find Scouse at most Liverpool restaurants throughout the colder months but most people will argue that their mum or nan makes it best. | Local TV

10. Lobster Pot chippy
With two sites in Liverpool city centre, the Lobster Pot is known as one of the places to go for a chippy after a night out. I don't think people outside of the city really get how iconic it is. | Neil K/Trip Advisor

11. The courts
Looking back, hanging around by crown court is a bit odd but it used to common for teenagers to spend their days together outside. I know that I feel nostalgic every time I walk past. | Christopher Furlong

12. St Johns Market
St John's Market shut in March, with Liverpool Council staying it had been 'forced' to end the tenancy of 43 traders in the market, resulting in its closure, following a 'lengthy period of communication' with the businesses to recover more than £1.7m of unpaid rent and service charges. The sight of the market will make many of us remember the good old days. | LDRS/David Humphreys
