With the deadline for applications for the next school year fast approaching (Janaury 15) we have compiled a list of the Knowsley primary schools hat have received the highest Ofsted rankings, of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’, up to January 2023.
Ofsted is the regulatory body responsible for visiting schools across the country and grading them on a four-point scale.
Published in December 2020, the Ofsted report for Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School states: “You have prioritised the teaching of physical education and personal, social, health and economic education to aid pupils’ return to school. You have given modern foreign languages a higher focus this term because this subject was not taught during the summer term 2020."
10. St Columba’s Catholic Primary School - Good
Published in May 2020, the Ofsted report for St Columba’s Catholic Primary School reads: “Pupils are at the heart of everything that the school does. They are happy and enjoy learning in a school where they feel safe and secure. Parents and carers who spoke with us agreed with this view. The relationships between adults and pupils are supportive and caring."
11. Northwood Community Primary School - Good
Published in January 2020, the Ofsted report for Northwood Community Primary School states: “Staff have created a warm, nurturing, happy and friendly school. Leaders and staff are determined that all pupils will succeed. Pupils achieve well. This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Pupils, parents and carers are full of praise for the school. One parent summed up these views by saying, ‘the school has adopted an ethos of no child being left behind’."
12. Millbrook Community Primary School - Good
Published in January 2020, the Ofsted report for Millbrook Community Primary School states: “Leaders have created an environment where pupils feel welcomed and valued. The strong relationships between school and home have a positive impact on pupils’ learning. Staff have high expectations of pupils. Pupils I spoke with understood teachers’ expectations of being ‘respectful, ready and safe’. Pupils behave well in lessons. They take great pride in their work and achieve well."
