'Big news' for the 'best' village in Merseyside as farm shop makes exciting announcement
A family-run business in Merseyside’s ‘best’ village has shared “big news” for the popular suburb.
A picturesque location in the heart of South Liverpool, Woolton was crowned Merseyside and the North West’s ‘Best Place to Live’ in the Sunday Times’ annual guide.
Known by many as the hometown of John Lennon and the location of the famous Strawberry Fields, Woolton also boasts a range of independent businesses including a popular farm shop.
Woolton Farm Shop first opened on Woolton Street in November 2024 and has become an integral part of the Liverpool suburb, providing locally sourced fruit and vegetables, honey, fresh bread and more. Now, it has shared “big news” and told locals “this is just the beginning”.

In an announcement on social media, Woolton Farm Shop said: “BIG NEWS. We’re so excited to share that we’ve secured a piece of land very close to the shop to create our very own regenerative farm.
“This means we’ll soon be growing lots of organic produce, with pasture-raised hens for eggs, bees for local honey, cut flowers from our micro flower farm and so much more — all grown with care for the land and our community.

“The dream is to be able to pick produce in the morning and bring it straight to the shop, no food miles, nutrient dense organic fruit and veg grown locally and eaten locally. Good for the soil, good for biodiversity, good for the planet and good for you. This is just the beginning.”
The new farm, named Hope Acre Farm, is expected to open in Woolton later this year. Woolton Farm Shop has been approached for further details.
