Sefton is a popular area for families and has a number of secondary schools. We have compiled a list of those that have received the highest OFSTED rankings, of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’, up to September 2022.
OFSTED is the regulatory body responsible for visiting schools across the country and grading them on a four-point scale.
Published in June 2019, the OFSTED report for Holy Family Catholic High School states: “Leaders know the school well. They plan and review actions to improve the school meticulously and effectively. Leaders are not complacent. They are well equipped to further strengthen pupils’ outcomes."
6. Deyes High School - Good
Published in March 2019, the OFSTED report for Deyes High School states: “Pupils have very positive attitudes to learning. They enjoy school and are proud to be educated at Deyes High School."
7. Chesterfield High School - Good
Published in May 2018, the OFSTED report for Chesterfield High School states: “The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. You, alongside your leadership team, have created a culture of high expectations. You are ambitious for pupils, students and staff alike. ‘For everyone the best’ is your mantra.”
8. St Michael’s Church of England High School - Good
Published in October 2017, the OFSTED report for St Michael’s Church of England High School states: “All pupils have access to, and are encouraged to participate in, a wide range of subjects and extracurricular activities, which enrich their learning experience."
