FootballInsider have reported that De Rood-Witten have made an approach for the player as they look to fend off a number of Premier League clubs who are also interested.

Here is what has been reported and the latest information regarding Nat Phillips future:

Liverpool are said to be open to offers for Nat Phillips who has been linked with a move away from Anfield since the summer.

Brighton & Hove Albion were the club most consistently linked with the defender last year but a deal never materialised.

Since the 2021 summer transfer window closed, Phillips has made just three first team appearances for Liverpool and has not featured in the Premier League this season.

He made substitute appearances against Preston North End in the EFL Cup and against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League before starting the Reds’ 2-1 win away to AC Milan in December.

Today’s reports have claimed that Liverpool are open to both loan and permanent transfer offers and have set and asking price of £12 million.

Who will Nat Phillips sign for?

As stated, PSV Eindhoven now appear to be in the race for the player but Phillips may well have options closer to home if he is to leave Merseyside this month.

FootballInsider reported last week that Watford has a £7 million bid rejected for the player and that West Ham United were showing interest.

According to the bookmakers, Newcastle United are the favourites to sign the player this month despite no recent reports linking him with a move to St James’ Park this month.

SkyBet have the Magpies leading the market at 5/2 while West Ham are 6/1, Burnley are 8/1 and Watford are 10/1.

Also in the market are Aston Villa at 12/1 and Leicester City at 14/1.

Those prices seem to suggest a permanent move to any of the Premier League sides is some way off and that could very well open the door for PSV to make their move.

The former Swansea player has also been rumoured to be interesting Barcelona - but reports in Spain claim that Liverpool are now in pole position to sign the 24-year-old.

El Nacional say that Jurgen Klopp’s side are now ‘big favourites’ to land the signature of Sanches, who is thought to be valued at around £25 million.

And the Reds may yet deal another blow to Barcelona after they were linked with a move for defender Ronald Araujo.

Liverpool are yet to add to their senior squad during the January transfer window, but have been linked with no shortage of players.
