Liverpool have had quite the couple of weeks, securing the Carabao Cup, closing the gap to Manchester City in the Premier League and progressing to the next stage of the FA Cup.

The Reds are firmly back in the title race, now within six points of City and with a game in hand, and they remain on course to win four trophies this season, however difficult that is likely to prove.

But while Jurgen Klopp is delighted with his squad and how they are performing, work will be ongoing to improve his ranks ahead of next season.

And with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer rumours surrounding Anfield.

Kounde interest

Liverpool strengthened their back-line significantly last summer with the signing Ibrahima Konate, but the latest reports suggest they may not be done there.

According to Fichajes, the Reds are expressing an interest for Sevilla star Jules Koundé, who is again attracting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United after missing out on a move last summer.

Koundé comes with a £68 million release clause, which makes him an unlikely signing, even if Joe Gomez does leave, but it will be interesting to see if this rumour develops into anything more serious.

Sparta Prague’s Adam Hlozek is the latest forward to be linked with Liverpool ahead of the summer.

Jeunes Footeux are reporting the 19-year-old could replace Divock Origi, who is likely to leave this summer.

Despite his youth, Hlozek has already racked up 92 league appearances for Sparta, netting 31 goals to date.

This will be one to keep an eye on.

Salah update

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on the future of Mo Salah, with the Egyptian’s contract up in 2023.

“While the negotiations with Mohamed Salah and his agent are still underway with Liverpool, who have more and more urgency in wanting to reach a definitive agreement, concrete negotiations with Sadio Mane have not yet started,” Romano said in his Anfield Watch column.

“The forward has just one year left to run on his current deal come the end of the season. Liverpool will have to carefully evaluate the management of the budget on the contracts for both him and Salah. And not forgetting Roberto Firmino too.

“The priority within the club is to resolve Salah’s situation as soon as possible. But Mane and Firmino are also awaiting the final proposals from Liverpool.

“There is no need to specify it, but Jurgen Klopp’s opinion is very clear on the topic of Salah. He is a world-class player, a star that Liverpool must try in every way to keep even for the future of the club.

“Klopp is in no way involved in the negotiation of contracts and in the wages of the players. He observes situations with the utmost respect, but his opinion is always important.”
