Liverpool are on course for their worst Premier League season in seven years following their dismal defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend. The Reds now need to concede one more goal to match their goals against tally for the whole of the 2021-22 campaign.

Sitting nineth in the Premier League table after 18 matches, Liverpool have put on some horrific performances and don’t seem to be able to get going - despite continuing to add the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo to their ranks. With reports claiming they won’t be investing any further this month, despite claims they need to bolster their midfield, it looks like fans are in it for the long haul as they wait impatiently for this season to end so they can simply forget about it.

Nobody could have predicted such a poor campaign for the Merseyside outfit after previous success under Jurgen Klopp and it doesn’t look like it’s going to turn around anytime soon, however it appears that fans are looking a bit more optimistically at this term. Research undertaken by 888Sport asked supporters to predict where their side will finish in the top flight and it is looking much better for the Reds.
