A Reddit user said: “I used to work night shifts in Rice Lane Sainsburys and it’s so haunted. We used to see milk just flying off the shelves but like they’d been grabbed. Entire shelves used to rattle like an earthquake was happening. The worst activity would happen 3-4am for some reason. On my very first night I had my AirPods in listening to a podcast while stocking up the yoghurt aisle and I suddenly heard my name getting shouted from the side of me. I assumed it was a coworker that I misheard but I turned around and there was no one there. I never mentioned it because it was the first shift and I didn’t want them to think I was a weirdo who was hearing voices. A few months down the line we’re talking about paranormal stuff happening in the store and he mentioned the person who had the job before me was a clairvoyant who refused to work on the yoghurt aisle because of a bad spirit. I was so spooked. We later found out that three people had died in the store since it’s opening and that it is built on what used to be a graveyard.” Photo: pxl.store

Creepy as hell and heard what were either really big rats, or really small people. And certain parts were FREEZING.” The tunnels are believed to form the hidden subterranean passages beneath the hall and may join networks of tunnels throughout the city. All of a sudden I heard loud footsteps coming up quick behind me, assumed it was one of my mates catching me, turned around and there was f** all there. Never went near there at night again.” Photo: Sue Adair via Wikimedia Commons CC SA 2.0
