Only one Liverpool restaurant features in the prestigious list.

A Liverpool restaurant known for serving high-quality, seasonal dishes has been named in the UK’s Top 100.

Featuring in the National Restaurant Awards 2024 rankings is Baltic Triangle restaurant and bar, Manifest - the only Liverpool venue to make the coveted list. Headed up by chef Paul Durand and wife Charlotte, the industrial-style restaurant on Watkinson Street is regularly praised by food critics and features in a number of 'foodie' directories, including the Michelin Guide.

Placing at number 84 on the list, Manifest was commended for its ‘accessible’ prices and ‘unusual natural wines’. An excerpt by the National Restaurant Awards reads: “Occupying the ground floor of a converted warehouse, the industrial-style restaurant serves a regularly changing menu with wine firmly in mind, with a solid selection of drink-friendly snacks leading into a menu of small and larger plates.

“Prices are accessible with snacks of ‘still warm’ salt and vinegar crisps, and house sourdough with Lancashire whey butter only setting you back a few pounds and this pricing structure continues with small plates hovering around the £11 mark and mains not breaking £30.

“What makes Manifest stand out from the crowd, however, is chef-patron Durand’s craftsmanship. Breads and oils are made in house as are preserves, pickles, ferments and brews that elevate dishes and breathe new life into classic combinations. Marinated heritage carrots are lifted with hazelnut and fermented cep while the combination of white strawberry, red pepper and tomato with a stuffed courgette flower brings welcome additional sweetness to a dish that can sometimes be too cloying.”

While no other Merseyside venues feature in the Top 100 this year, two venues on the outskirts bagged themselves a place, including Aughton’s Moor Hall. Placing impressively at number three, adding another achievement to its long list of accolades. Also located in Aughton, Sōlō came in at number 52,
