The UK’s first floating sauna will open in Liverpool in a matter of weeks.

Promising ‘an experience like no other’, WYLD is bringing the ‘traditional Nordic sauna’ concept to the heart of the city.

Located next to the existing jetty at Princes Dock in Liverpool Waters, the floating pontoon will include a 30-person sauna, plant room, ice baths with floor boxes, outdoor showers, waterfall effect pail showers and two changing rooms.

The proposals were given the green light earlier this year, but a new licensing application was recently submitted seeking permission to open from 7.00am to 10.00pm each day and to allow the sale of alcohol from 11.00am to 10.00pm from Monday to Sunday. A date for the decision on the application is not yet known.

It is hoped the sauna will complement existing water-based activities within Princes Dock, such as open water swimming. The new pontoon will be moored to the existing dock wall but could be easily moved if necessary.

The floating sauna is still under construction but WYLD has announced that it will officially open to the public on Saturday, November 23. The exclusive preview weekend is limited to 90 spaces and sessions will start from £5.00 per hour. More information about how to sign up is available here.
